Ladies, it’s time to gather and treat yo’selves. Luxury oceanfront resorts and spas, a thriving culinary scene, exclusive shopping adventures, and fun in the sun overflow in Surf City USA®, and we’re here to share the good times. Let’s make some more memories, girls.
Relax Together
Two words: Oceanfront resort. Splurge and book your stay at one of Huntington Beach’s luxury oceanfront resorts, and you’re already guaranteed an extraordinary experience. Dotting Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) are four exquisite luxury hotels, each truly unique and boasting killer coastal views. And three of them feature amazing in-house spas.
Kimpton fans love the Kimpton Shorebreak Resort, located at 5th and PCH. This surfer-chic boutique hotel charmingly captures Huntington Beach’s surfer spirit and features Pacific Hideaway, one of the best restaurants in town. It also harbors a 24-hour resort fitness center and rock climbing wall. Two complimentary pluses make this spot extra appealing, especially for winos and yogis: Wine Hour and yoga mats in every room.
Paséa Hotel & Spa, a modern four-star oasis at 1st Street and PCH, neighbors Pacific City and plays host to lively events, Bali-inspired Aarna Spa, and the whimsical Treehouse Lounge at Tanner’s. Ask about the summertime Poolside Cabana experiences and Waves of Wellness weekends.
Hilton heads adore The Waterfront Beach Resort, A Hilton Hotel, for many reasons, one being its fresh features, including a new suite-centric Twin Dolphin Tower, new Offshore 9 Rooftop Lounge, and new Drift, a Waterfront Spa. It’s located at Huntington Street and PCH.
Hyatt habitués adore the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa, a high-end Mediterranean-style resort housing their Spanish-style Pacific Waters Spa and deliciously praised restaurant Watertable. Find it at Beach Boulevard and PCH.
Both our oceanfront resorts guide and spas guide dive deep into the details.
Dine Together
Huntington Beach’s culinary scene dishes out award-winning restaurants plating global cuisine—with fresh coastal fare as its specialty. Slip away to the islands at Duke’s, sitting at the foot of the pier and serving fresh seafood, Hawaiian-inspired fare, and an outrageous Sunday brunch buffet—complete with $4 Duke’s Own Island Mimosas. Reserve a table overlooking the water or go casual at the Barefoot Bar. Perched across PCH, BLK Earth Sea Spirits sends out Kobe-style hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, and a Sunday brunch buffet. Opt for a seat on their heated terrace overlooking the ocean. At Pacific City, Ola Mexican Kitchen prepares elevated Mexican cuisine with ocean views, a covered outdoor patio, and, of course, Taco Tuesday especials. Head north up PCH to Sunset Beach for a bite at Captain Jack’s, offering peaceful Huntington Harbour views, a quintessential seafoodery menu, and live music. If you’d rather focus on the libations, Main Street Wine Company pours exceptional picks and plate delicious bites. SeaLegs at the Beach, is the spot for libations, treats, and live music.
Shop Together
Score that Southern California style with your sounding board in tow. You can plan a full day—or a full week!—shopping in Huntington Beach with its downtown boutiques, three open-air retail hubs, and neighboring fashion meccas.
Main Street and 5th & PCH in downtown are lined with eclectic shops, from surf shops to women’s boutiques to vintage gems. Pacific City, a nearby playful retail and restaurant hub, offers an unbeatable oceanfront shopping experience, from unique locally owned boutiques to popular favorites like Free People and H&M. Another outdoor mall experience, Tuscan-style Bella Terra sprawls across 1 million square feet and gifts shoppers with trendy stores and plenty of eateries. Two world-class shopping destinations, Fashion Island in Newport Beach and South Coast Plaza—touted as the West Coast’s largest shopping center—in Costa Mesa are quick drives down PCH or the 405 Freeway.
Experience Together
Your getaway need include indulgences, and you can maintain balance by actively experiencing Huntington Beach from land or sea.
If you’re staying on land, rent bicycles and cruise the 10-mile paved beach path, soaking up the Pacific Ocean in all its sparkling glory. Check out our biking guide for rental tips. Another must-try dry adventure is a traditional beach bonfire. Three out of 5 of our beaches house fire pits, and nearly all of our oceanfront resorts offer effortless bonfire packages. Check out our beach bonfire guide here and get roasting.
When it’s time to get wet, simply enjoy the 10 miles of uninterrupted beach, or get radical by surfing, kayaking, or stand up paddle boarding (SUP). We are the official Surf City USA, so a visit practically requires a surf sesh. Numerous surf schools offer group lessons. The calm Huntington Harbour is a serene spot to kayak and SUP, and rentals are available through convenient spots along PCH in Sunset Beach. We’ve got a great guide to hitting the water on our blog.
