Live Music in Huntington Beach

Surf City USA® is alive with the sound of music! Whether you're on the hunt for local bands performing at one of the hidden gem dive bars or you've had tickets to see a big-name artist play on the beach for months, Huntington Beach has live entertainment options for a variety of music tastes.

Huntington Beach's rich history of live music started at the popular nightclub, the Golden Bear. Located on Pacific Coast Highway just south of Main Street, the Golden Bear was open from 1923 to 1986 and attracted popular musicians such as The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Buffet, and many more. Huntington Beach even had a famous song named after it – Surf City by Jan and Dean. In 1991, Dean Torrence moved to Huntington Beach and convinced elected officials that the town is officially nicknamed Surf City USA. The love for live music in Huntington Beach continued with large music festivals on the beach that attracted a variety of acts from Tim McGraw, Snoop Dog, Weezer, ILLENIUM, and more from 2010 to 2019.
