Huntington Beach Independence Day Events

Bright and early on Thursday, July 4th, hundreds will take on the Annual Surf City Run along the historic route of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway. Enjoy an "All-American" start to the holiday by running along the parade route, see the famous Huntington Beach Pier, and the beautiful Pacific Ocean before a gentle sloping return to Worthy Park for the finish. 

Packet pick up will be on July 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Sports Basement (10800 Kalama River Ave., Fountain Valley) or day of pick up at Worthy Park from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

• Resident 5K - 7 a.m.
• Open 5K - 8 a.m.
• Stroller 5K - 8:15 a.m.
• Kids Fun Run (1 mile) - 9 a.m.

The Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach is hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast on July 4 at Lake Park starting at 8 a.m. They start flipping their famous pancakes early so the runners, families, and lovers of the holiday can start their morning with a yummy hot breakfast. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit children in need in Huntington Beach.

Watch the biggest 4th of July Parade west of the Mississippi River on the 4th of July at 10 a.m. Local businesses, classic cars, the Huntington Beach High School cheerleaders, the Huntington Beach Mayor, and more put on a show for residents and visitors alike. The 2.5-mile route starts on Pacific Coast Highway and makes its way past the Huntington Beach Pier and onto Main Street.

To close out the weekend of festivities, Fireworks Over the Ocean will commence at 9 p.m. on the 4th of July. All beach viewing is open to the public. To purchase tickets for Fireworks Reserved Seating, click HERE. 

The annual celebration closes with the Main Street Block Party on July 5, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Ramsey Brothers and Redneck Rodeo will perform on stage while local bars and restaurants open their doors to all looking to celebrate.
