Seafood
When craving seafood, there's no better place to be than by the sea. Huntington Beach serves up fresh seafood in just about any style you can imagine. Duke's by the pier features seasonal, sustainable sea fare and a variety of Hawaiian preparations. You'll also find poke on the menu here, as well as at Bear Flag Fish Co. at Pacific City, where fresh-caught seafood finds its way into taco, burrito, cocktail, sandwich, salad, and sushi form. Don't leave without at least a large spoonful of the creamy New England Clam Chowder. Fish Camp along Pacific Coast Highway on the north end of town showcases its fresh catches similar to Bear Flag's seafood market with customizable preparations and fresh oysters on the half shell. Speaking of oysters, Ways & Means Oyster House back at Pacific City plates the best assortment in town - along with a long list of inventive small plates. Slapfish, another local leader in sustainable ocean fare, makes the best lobster roll in town and sends its catches out with your choice of sauce, including "Awesome Sauce" and "Jersey." Nearby SeaSalt Woodfire Grill specializes in smoked meats and, you guessed it, finishing sea salts, but their jumbo tiger prawns are a mouthwatering must. Back in downtown, eat like a local at G's Boat House, where coastal classics like peel-and-eat shrimp and Oysters Rockefeller steam up the menu. One of our most unique menus in town is found at Ritter's Steam Kettle Cooking on Fifth Street, where cajun creole tastes sing in steaming bowls of cioppino, gumbo, jambalaya, scampi, and more.
