Two skateboarding parks are available in Huntington Beach. Both being open to the public, they offer a variety of features like rails, curbs, boxes, and skating bowls, allowing skaters to practice certain skateboarding techniques and tricks. While you can take skateboarding lessons in Huntington Beach, you can also attend skateboarding events and shop at local skateboarding shops, immersing yourself in the culture and sport of skateboarding. 

Skateboarding Parks in Huntington Beach 

Vans Skateboarding Park, located behind Bella Terra and next to Old World Village, is a 42,500-square-foot park free to the public with nearly three acres of ramps, bowls, and stairs open. The skate park offers every type of terrain. A 17,500-square-foot transition area includes a full-sized competition clover bowl and a custom hybrid backyard bowl/flow combination. The massive 25,000 square foot area dedicated to the street plaza is comprised of real-life street elements including stairs for jumping and plenty of metal edges for grinding. It also features a double-kinked handrail that’s more than 40 feet long and a dazzling volcano feature with a palm tree. Both the upper transition area and the lower street plaza are tied together by the iconic Vans checkerboard paving pattern that weaves throughout the entire park. The skate park is open 7 days a week from 10 AM to 8 PM with free parking. Located right next to the park, Grinderz is a skate-influenced burger joint serving up savory burgers and fries that are as good as they look.

Just recently opened, the Edison Skateboarding Park features rails, curbs, and boxes. The skatepark provides a place for skaters to go and enjoy skateboarding in Huntington Beach. The Edison Skateboard Park is open 7 days a week from 6 AM to 10 PM. There is free parking in a paved parking lot.

Skateboarding Lessons in Huntington Beach 

Beginner, intermediate, or advanced in skateboarding, there are skateboarding lessons in Huntington Beach to meet an individual's current skill level. GoSkate teaches skateboarding to children ages 4 through 104 years of age and beginners through competition-style advanced. They recommend bringing a board and a full set of safety gear. 

Skateboarding Events in Huntington Beach 

Huntington Beach hosts various skateboarding events in Huntington Beach that range from small to large size events. The annual Vans U.S. Open of Surfing puts on a show at the beach in Huntington Beach bringing in the top skateboarder athletes in the U.S. And 5 Points Plaza puts on an annual Learn to Skate with the professionals' offerings skateboarding lessons. Watch the professional skateboarders shred and demonstrate their talents, too. Various stores at 5 Points Plaza offers shopping specials at their various stores at the mall.
