Surf City USA® Shuttle

The Surf City USA Shuttle ended its regular summer weekend run on September 3, 2018.

Great Pacific Airshow event service will run on October 20 and 21.

Running Saturdays, Sundays, and Holiday Mondays from May 26 - September 3, 2018 (Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend), the complimentary shuttle will connect visitors and residents to downtown Huntington Beach, Sunset Beach, and Bella Terra.

The 2018 season will feature live GPS tracking and simplified stops throughout Surf City USA. Also returning this year will be the 4th of July and US Open of Surfing special event shuttles, along with a new HB Airshow shuttle. See below for more details!

City Loop

Ride the City Loop to reach 10 destinations throughout Huntington Beach.

Ride the Coastal Loop and take the fast lane between Bella Terra and Downtown! Two Coastal Loop shuttles will run in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions around HB for even faster service.

Special Event Shuttle Service

Surf City USA Shuttle special event service and pickup locations are available for the annual Huntington Beach Fourth of July Celebration, US Open of Surfing, and Great Pacific Airshow.

Fourth of July Celebration – July 4
Park and ride shuttle service to 1st Street & Pacific View Avenue from:

OCTA Golden West Transportation Center (7301 Center Avenue) – 8 am to midnight
Huntington Beach Civic Center (2000 Main Street) – 1 pm to midnight
Complimentary shuttles will run every half hour. Last shuttle leaves downtown at 11:30 pm.

US Open of Surfing – July 28-29 and August 4-5 
Park and ride shuttle service to Main & Orange Streets from:

Huntington Beach High School (1905 Main Street, enter off Utica Avenue) – 10 am to 8 pm
Edison High School (21400 Magnolia Street) – 10 am to 8 pm
Complimentary shuttles will run every half hour. Last shuttle leaves downtown at 7:30 pm.

PLUS additional special event service on August 4-5 weekend from:
Huntington Beach Civic Center (2000 Main Street) – 10 am to 7 pm
Complimentary shuttles will run every half hour. Last shuttle leaves downtown at 6:30 pm.

Regular weekend service will also be running on US Open of Surfing special event service dates. Live GPS tracking will be available for all service shuttles.

Complimentary shuttles will run every half hour. Last shuttle departs show center at 5:30 pm.

Regular weekend service will NOT be running during the Great Pacific Airshow. Also, please note there will be no shuttle service on Friday, October 19. Live GPS tracking will be available for all service shuttles.

Frequently Asked Questions

I want to ride the shuttle! Where can I park?

The best place to park free is at the Golden West Transportation Center, located on Gothard and Center Ave. Please do not leave your car parked on private property to ride the shuttle. Parking on private property, such as at a shopping center, is at your own risk and subject to towing.

Is there a cost to ride the shuttle?

The shuttle is free to both visitors and residents! Funding has been provided by an OCTA grant, Visit Huntington Beach, and the City of Huntington Beach. As long a we maintain good ridership, the shuttle will remain free to all. Encourage your family, friends, and co-workers to ride the shuttle so the program will continue to grow!

Can I bring my bike on the shuttle?

Bikes are allowed, first-come first-serve, on an outside rack on the City Loop shuttle. Bikes are not allowed on the Coastal Loop shuttle.

What can I bring on the shuttle?

Closed food and beverage containers, service animals, and skateboards are allowed on the shuttle.

Smoking and open food and beverage containers, pets, bicycles, surfboards, body boards, beach chairs, large coolers, and any other items that may block the aisles are not allowed on board. All seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserving seats is not allowed. Shirts and shoes are required.

Do the shuttles have wheelchair access?

The Surf City USA Shuttle is a wheelchair accessible vehicle and can accommodate up to 1 wheelchair each.

What is the capacity of each shuttle?

The shuttle can hold up to 20 riders at a time. All seats are available on a first-come first-serve basis and cannot be reserved or held for any reason.

I left something on the shuttle. What do I do?
