Surf City USA^® Sonny the Elf Scavenger Hunt Terms & Conditions

Starting December 5, 2024, keep an eye out for Sonny the Elf hidden around Huntington Beach. For 12 days (excluding Saturdays and Sundays), he will be hiding somewhere different around Surf City USA^® each day. Maybe he'll be relaxing on the beach, maybe he'll be taking a stroll through Central Park. With the help of our social posts, maybe you'll be able to find him!

If you spot Sonny around town, grab him and bring him into our office at 155 5th St., Suite 111, Huntington Beach, CA 92648. Lucky winners will receive a different prize worth up to $100 each day. Plus, you'll be entered for a chance to win a grand prize weekend stay at one of our oceanfront resorts. How to Redeem Prizes

STEP 1:

Make sure you take Sonny the Elf with you - don't leave him in his hiding spot!

STEP 2:

Send us a message on Instagram (@surfcityusa) letting us know that you found Sonny by 5 p.m. on the day that you found him. For example, if you found Sonny on Wednesday, December 11 at 1:45 p.m., send us a message on Wednesday, December 11 by 5 p.m. Your Instagram message should include a photo of Sonny - ensure his serial number on the bottom right corner is visible in the photo.

STEP 3:

Come to the Visit Huntington Beach office at 155 5th St., Suite 111 Huntington Beach, CA 92648 to redeem your prize. Prizes must be redeemed within 12 business days of the found date. For example, if you found Sonny on Monday, December 9, please redeem your prize at our office by Friday, December 27.

12 business days excludes all weekend days; December 24, 2024; December 25, 2024; and January 1, 2025.
Upon redemption, we will be collecting your first and last name, email address, and phone number for your entry into the grand prize drawing.
Make sure to bring a valid photo ID to verify that you're 18 years or older in order to claim your prize. See full terms & conditions below.

Eligibility

Participants must be 18 years or older to redeem prizes.
You must follow Visit Huntington Beach's (VHB) Instagram and Facebook accounts to be deemed eligible to win.

Participation

The Sonny the Elf Scavenger Hunt is open to the public. No purchase is necessary to participate.
Participants must not damage property or violate any laws while searching for Sonny the Elf.
By participating, winners agree to allow VHB to use their name, photo(s), and social account handle for promotional purposes related to the scavenger hunt.
Participants who engage in disruptive, unsafe, or unlawful behavior may be disqualified at VHB's sole discretion.
VHB reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the scavenger hunt at any time.

Prize Redemption

Each elf represents one prize and one Grand Prize raffle entry.
Prizes are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one prize per person is allowed throughout the entire scavenger hunt. You may not redeem multiple prizes.
Prizes must be redeemed at VHB's storefront location at 155 5th St., Suite 111 in Huntington Beach, CA during regular business hours.
- Business hours: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The elf and subsequent prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for alternative prizes.
Participants have 12 business days from the time they notify VHB that they've found an elf to redeem their prize in-office.
- 12 business days excludes all weekend days; December 24, 2024; December 25, 2024; and January 1, 2025.
By redeeming the elf, participants actively agree to these terms and conditions.
Any disputes regarding eligibility, redemption, or prize allocation will be determined solely at the discretion of VHB, whose decisions are final.

$100 gift card to Kimpton Shorebreak Resort - for use at Pacific Hideaway

Grand Prize (Monday, December 23, 2024):

Overnight resort stay for two guests

The grand raffle prize is subject to blackout dates and availability. The overnight stay is only redeemable through VHB for one of the four oceanfront resorts in Huntington Beach (Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa, The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, Paséa Hotel & Spa, or Kimpton Shorebreak Resort). Additional terms and conditions for the grand prize may apply and will be provided to the winner upon redemption.

Liability Waiver

By participating in the scavenger hunt, participants acknowledge and agree that VHB is not responsible for any injuries, damage, or other incidents incurred during participation.
Participants assume all risks associated with searching for the elf.
