Can't Miss Fall Events in Huntington Beach

From September 17 through 24, the International Surfing Association (ISA)'s World Surfing Games return to Huntington Beach for the first time since 2006. As a significant innovation to the Olympic Surfing Qualification System, the winning men's and women's National Teams at these World Surfing Games will be allocated one Olympic slot each for their respective country or National Olympic Committee (NOC). In iconic Surf City USA® fashion, the premier event will take place just south of the landmark Huntington Beach Pier. 

Huntington Beach has played a historic role in the sport of surfing, having hosted top-tier global events - the 2022 ISA World Surfing Games will be the seventh major ISA event held in Huntington Beach after the city hosted three editions of the Games in 1984, 1996, and 2006, as well as the ISA World Juniors in 2005, 2018, and 2019.

The Biergarten at Old World is proud to announce that “Orange County’s biggest party since 1977” returns September 18 all the way through November 6. The Village will be buzzing with chicken dancing, amazing German food (voted "Best Bratwurst" in California), over 60 beers on tap, Oom pah pah bands, DJs, The Biergarten Shotzie Girls, competitions, craft cocktails, and a 10,000 square foot open air Biergarten and ginormous Fest Hall.

The Surf City 10 starts and finishes at Huntington Beach's Pier Plaza, and the course runs along flat and scenic Pacific Coast Highway. Running doesn't seem so bad when you get to take in the sandy beaches, palm-tree studded sidewalks, wave surfing dolphins, and more. The 6th annual Pacific Airshow lineup will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Canadian Forces Snowbirds, along with others, in what is sure to be a spectacular event. The Airshow is free to the public with a large footprint spanning Huntington City Beach from Seapoint to Beach Boulevard. Watch the show from one of Huntington Beach's four oceanfront hotels. Parking will be extremely limited, so be sure to plan ahead and arrive extra early. 

For the first time ever, Red Bull Straight Rhythm and Moto Beach Classic are joining forces so fans can experience both events live.

Red Bull Straight Rhythm will take place on Huntington State Beach right next to Sahara Sandbar and Restaurant. Practice, qualifying, and final rounds will all take place in one day, with finals culminating just before the sun dips below the horizon of the Pacific Ocean with the Huntington Beach Pier in the background. The half-mile Supercross track includes whoops, jumps, tabletops, and more.

Cars 'N Copters on the Coast in downtown Huntington Beach features unique hypercars such as Koenigseggs, Bugattis, Paganis, Mclarens, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, and more. The family-friendly show is free for spectators and anticipates over 400 cars of a wide variety of makes and models in addition to several local authority and privately-owned helicopters. 

The event takes place directly in front of The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel in the Huntington City Beach parking lot, right by Pacific City. Take a break from walking around to enjoy lunch at one of the delicious restaurants in the surrounding area including Duke's, Sandy's Beach Shack, The American Dream, Bear Flag Fish Co., Ola Mexican Kitchen, Old Crow Smokehouse, Lemonade, and Simmzy's Huntington Beach. 

The annual Veteran's Day Ceremony and Car Show remembers and honors the sacrifices of those Americans who gave their time, their fighting spirit, and sometimes their lives in war. The Ceremony will be held at Huntington Beach City Hall (2000 Main St. Huntington Beach, CA 92648) at 11 a.m. 

The Car Show (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) will feature hundreds of classic, collector cars, customs, motorcycles, and more at the City Beach parking lot across the street from major resort hotels, Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa and The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel. Enjoy a variety of food vendors, stage entertainment, local bands, and more. Attendance is free, but there is a fee if you plan to register and show your car. The registration and donations support special veteran's programs, and proceeds from the event go towards nonprofit organizations. 

Wine, food, live music, and a sun-splashed beachside resort are just a few of the elements that come together to create the California Wine Festival, hosted by the Paséa Hotel & Spa. On November 11 and 12, California's best wineries will be pouring hundreds of vintage red and white wines expertly paired with the region's top chefs and specialty food purveyors' gourmet appetizers.

An elegant VIP event for true fine wine lovers takes place Friday evening, where a sparkling wine reception is just the beginning of an evening of sampling hard-to-find trophy wines. On Saturday afternoon, hundreds of premium California wines are served up alongside the best regional craft brews and a dizzying variety of foods to sample during the outdoor extravaganza. The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) Huntington Beach Open returns to the sands of Surf City USA this fall as one of the last stops of the 2022 season. On November 11 and 12, exciting events and competitive matchups will bring a fresh reset for beach volleyball. Watch for free from the beach right next to the Huntington Beach Pier - you may even be able to catch AVP athletes after matches or walking around the tournament to take photos and sign autographs. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site, so you can sink your toes into the sand, sink your teeth into some snacks, and take in all the action. 

Since 2000, Huntington Beach has hosted more AVP events than any other location, and 2022 will be the city's 21st straight year hosting a professional beach volleyball tournament.
