Huntington Beach, Calif. — February 23, 2026 —Visit Huntington Beach (VHB) is stoked to announce the return of the Surf City USA® Foodie Awards, an initiative created in 2025 to celebrate the colorful culinary scene in Huntington Beach. The 2026 Surf City USA® Foodie Awards will include four new voting categories, including best açai bowl, best breakfast burrito, best brewery, and best sushi.

Huntington Beach boasts unparalleled coastal dining with one-of-a-kind restaurants and breathtaking ocean views, all of which add to Huntington Beach’s authentic beach experience.

The 2026 Surf City USA® Foodie Awards will recognize restaurants in 12 categories through the eyes of visitors and locals:

  • Best açaí bowl
  • Best breakfast burrito
  • Best brewery
  • Best brunch
  • Best burger
  • Best coffee
  • Best happy hour
  • Best pizza
  • Best sushi
  • Best taco
  • Best treat
  • Best view

Locals and visitors are invited to nominate their favorite spot in each category once per day beginning March 2 at 10 a.m. through March 11 at 10 a.m. Once the nomination period closes, the top three restaurants with the most nominations in each category will advance to the voting round. The voting period will begin on March 16 at 10 a.m. and end on March 25 at 10 a.m. 

The winning restaurant with the most votes in each category will be announced on March 30 on VHB’s Facebook (@Visit Huntington Beach) and Instagram (@surfcityusa). Winners will also be highlighted at surfcityusa.com. 

Nominations will open on March 2 at surfcityusafoodieawards.com.
