Huntington Beach, CA., July 10, 2014 - As part of the 100 Years of Surfing celebration in Huntington Beach, the inaugural Greens Room Golf Tournament brings together professional surfers and participants.

The Greens Room Golf Tournament takes place during the Vans US Open of Surfing, encouraging past and present professional surfers and surf industry executives to participate. The tournament derived its name from the surf term, the "green room", which describes the perfect spot inside the barrel of a wave where green light is reflected through the water.

The scramble format tournament begins with a shotgun start at noon on Monday, July 28th at SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach. Registration opens at 10am and the tournament concludes with a cocktail reception, dinner and awards.

Entry to this charity event is open to the public and fees include a full round of golf, range balls, putting contest, box lunch, catered dinner, and prizes. All proceeds will directly benefit the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum and their mission to preserve surfing heritage for future generations.

"We are thrilled at the opportunity to raise funds for the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum through such a fun and engaging event," says Brett Barnes, Chairman of the HBISM Board of Directors. "Thanks to the generosity of all of the Greens Room Golf Tournament sponsors, participants, and volunteers, the museum will be able to expand their collection and produce exciting new exhibits."
