Now it's time to check "go surfing" off your bucket list! If this isn't your first rodeo, check swell conditions at surfline.com or on the Hurley big screen at Huntington Surf & Sport, rent a board from one of many beach concessionaires or board shops, then paddle out toward the horizon. If you're a novice surfer, you've come to the right place. Take a lesson at one of our trusted surf schools. Rather stay on top of the water? Rent a stand up paddle (SUP) board or kayak along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Sunset Beach, and launch into the calm Huntington Harbour. Landlubbers can get moving at our recreational Disc Golf Course at Huntington Central Park.
No matter where you surfed, there's a delicious spot nearby to refuel. Grab a taco plate from Sancho's Tacos at PCH and Fifth Street, a burrito from Secret Spot in the Harbour near PCH and Warner Avenue, or a charbroiled burger from TK Burgers on PCH, just south of Main Street. If you're at Bolsa Chica State Beach, you've got four extraordinary concessions to choose from. Inside Huntington Central Park, Park Bench Cafe and Kathy May's Lakeview Cafe both offer tasty fare with a view.
Grinderz, a skate-themed locals-run burger joint, sits just a stone's throw from the Skatepark and serves up epic burgers, fries, and beer. If you're still near the beach, head to Pacific City and grab a patio seat at Simmzy's, a modern pub plating artisan food and pouring local craft beer.
When night falls, let your muscles and mind relax by recapping the day's energy at The Bungalow, a charming Baja-inspired lounge at Pacific City pouring signature cocktails and boasting a whimsical oceanfront patio. Or grab a seat on a swing or around a bonfire at SeaLegs at the Beach, an adult playground on the sand at Bolsa Chica State Beach.
