The Huntington Beach Ambassador Program began in July 2014 as a 10-week pilot program in Downtown Huntington Beach and has proven to be a valuable resource for downtown business owners and patrons. Designed to provide hospitality on the streets and improve public safety, the program is a public-private partnership with Visit Huntington Beach, the Downtown Business Improvement District, City of Huntington Beach, and downtown businesses.
Administered by Visit Huntington Beach, the program provides an Ambassador in Downtown Huntington Beach 365 days of the year. Ambassadors answer visitor questions and act as eyes and ears to improve public safety. While on duty, Ambassadors can also escort downtown employees to their cars upon request.
Current Ambassador Program hours are 9 am to 6 pm daily, except on Tuesday when hours are 2 pm to 10 pm to support Surf City Nights. On the third Thursday of each month, Ambassador hours are 12 pm to 9 pm, in order to support the HB Downtown Art Walk.
