The largest 4th of July event west of the Mississippi is once again hosting all of its beloved traditions during this annual weekend of Independence Day festivities. The City of Huntington Beach held its very first 4th of July Celebration 118 years ago, and today, the annual tradition attracts more than 500,000 attendees over 5 days of programming.

4th of July Opening NightLocal officials and Huntington Beach Mayor Tony Strickland will kick off the 4th of July celebrations, followed by an open-air concert on Main Street featuring local legends The Ramsey Brothers, followed by Orange County's own Redneck Rodeo. Downtown bars, restaurants, and shops will also be serving food, drink, and shopping specials throughout the evening.

4th of July bikes

The 4th Annual 4th of July Weekend Bicycle Cruise will take off from Lake Park at 10:30 a.m. and head towards Downtown HB. Bring the whole family, your neighbors, and even pets! Don't forget to decorate your bike!

Pier Vendor FestivalAttendees are welcome to stroll across Pacific Coast Highway to the Huntington Beach Pier, where this annual festival features more than 70 vendors, including craft and retail booths, food trucks, carnival rides, live music, games, and more! 

The Carnival and Pier Festival runs all weekend long from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day, and all ages are welcome.

The 1st Annual Huntington Beach Cornhole Tournament of Champions is sure to be a great time on the sand, complete with cash prizes! The tournament is open to all ages and any 2-person team can enter (max of 64 teams per day).

Tuesday, July 4: Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

The Kiwanis Club of HB starts flipping their famous pancakes at 7 a.m. in Lake Park so the runners and families can start their morning with a yummy hot breakfast. All proceeds benefit HB children in need.

Tuesday, July 4: Surf City Run 5K

4th of July 5KBright and early on Tuesday, July 4th, hundreds will take on the Annual Surf City Run 5K. All participants receive an official finisher medal, with awards given to the first, second, and third place (male and female in each age division). Advanced registration is currently open (but sign up soon, as pricing increases after June 19); onsite / race-day registration also available.

4th of July ParadeA highlight amongst an extended weekend of festivities, the Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade is not to be missed! Starting at 10 a.m. on July 4 at Main St. and PCH, the 2.5 mile parade route attracts more than 200 registered participating groups and thousands of viewers each year.

After the parade, head one block over to the 5th Street & PCH for an after-party featuring cornhole, chalk art, and more from 12 - 2 p.m. This event is free to attend and fun for the entire family.

Fireworks Over the OceanClosing out the weekend of festivities, the Fireworks Over the Ocean, presented by Mr. Robert Mayer & Family, will commence at 9 p.m. on the 4th of July. All beach viewing is open to the public, with limited paid tickets for reserved seating on the pier. More ticket information will be available soon.
