We’ve compiled a list of 10 restaurants that are perfect for a romantic evening… So put on your favorite outfit, grab your significant other, and head to Huntington Beach for a date night that you’ll never forget!
Located in Pacific City, this modern ocean-front restaurant boasts stunning views of the ocean, and tantalizing “Coastal Californian” cuisine. From Bluegold’s extensive Raw Bar (try the Deluxe Shellfish Tower for a real treat), to their hearty New England Clam Chowder, to their mouth-watering Pork Short Ribs, their menu is a fusion of fresh seafood and creative and hearty entrees. Oh, and did we mention they specialize in woodfired pizza too?
Tucked away behind an unmarked door in Bluegold, LSXO is easily one of the best kept secrets in Huntington Beach. This Michelin restaurant serves elevated home-style Vietnamese cuisine in a cozy and intimate setting. Try the “Pho Bo” or one of their delicious Banh Mi’s…. And don’t miss out on one of their creative specialty cocktails! They only have 28 seats, so be sure to make a reservation in advance!
When a restaurant says their specialty is premium seafood and Kobe-style steaks, you know it must be good. Not only is BLK Earth Sea Spirit’s entire menu a winner, but so is their beach-front location! Make a reservation on their patio for right around 5:30pm, order a round of cocktails and their Grilled Artichoke, and you’ll be all set to enjoy an epic sunset! As far as entrees go, we’re big fans of their Kobe Burger and their Grilled Local Swordfish, but you truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
Family-run and dimly-lit, The Black Trumpet is a favorite date-night spot among Huntington Beach locals, and it’s easy to see why. Voted #1 Tapas in Orange County, they specialize in Mediterranean-style small bites and an impressive wine list. Be sure to try their famous Spanakopita and Crispy Calamari, and be sure to leave room for dessert!
From the moment you step inside Capone’s Cucina, you’ll feel like part of the family. Owned by the same family as The Black Trumpet, this authentic Italian restaurant has been serving hearty entrees and homemade pastas and pizzas for over 20 years! We recommend the Ravioli Zucca and the Penne Con Petite De Pollo, but it’s all “delizioso”!
A Huntington Beach staple since 1965, Captain Jack’s is not only one of the most iconic restaurants in town, but it’s also one of the most unique, too! You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time when you enter this laid-back, nautical-style establishment, and that’s exactly why we love it. Serving a classic surf and turf menu, regulars swear by their Alaskan Red King Crab and their hearty Seafood Scampi, but we say splurge a little and share their Seafood Combination, featuring Charbroiled Jumbo Shrimp, Scallops, Fresh Fish Skewers, and Alaskan King Crab. If your date falls on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, feel free to start with a tasty cocktail in the lounge and enjoy live music by local singer-songwriter Jim Quealy.
Nestled inside the dazzling Hyatt Huntington Beach, Watertable is always a favorite of ours for a romantic date night. This restaurant-meets-gastrobar offers locally-sourced cuisine and seasonal artisanal cocktails that are as beautifully presented as they are tasty! Try their Branzino or House Butchered Filet, and make sure you order a side of their Roasted Acorn Squash.
For an upscale and contemporary culinary experience, we highly recommend Henry’s. Named after Henry Huntington, the railroad mogul that put Huntington Beach on the map back in the early 1900’s, Henry’s pays homage to the fresh coastal cuisine this city has to offer. We suggest treating yourself to their signature 4-course tasting menu, which highlights a selection of the best seasonal dishes their menu has to offer! Henry's is located in The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel.
Situated a half a block past Main Street in the Kimpton Shorebreak Resort, Pacific Hideaway is just that… a hideaway. Their menu is a fusion of Latin-Asian cuisine, resulting in plates that are full of color and flavor. You can’t go wrong with their Pad Thai or their Tortilla Bowl, especially when paired with one of their many specialty cocktails, like the Fig and Maple Old Fashioned!
This contemporary coastal restaurant (located inside the beautiful Pasea Resort) has made quite a name for itself since it opened back in 2016, with numerous awards and accolades! Their seasonal menu never disappoints, with everything from their Pan Seared Diver Scallops to their famous Shishito Burger. Plus, Tanner’s has a dreamy Treehouse Lounge upstairs for after-dinner drinks, complete with one of the best ocean views in town!
