What better way to celebrate being in Surf City USA than by learning to surf? Numerous surf schools offer private and group lessons—all equipment included—for novice surfers of all ages at three of our five beaches. Expert instructors are well-versed in water safety and ocean life to provide the best possible learning experience for your family.

Cruise the 10-mile paved beach path to dry off after a morning of catching waves. Views to the west include the shimmering ocean waves and Catalina silhouette, while the famous Pacific Coast Highway sits just to the east. You'll run into plenty of spots to stop and grab a bite to eat, take photos, and use the bathroom along the way. 

Rent or buy bicycles, tandem bikes, electric bikes, surreys, and more from any number of beach concessionaires along the bike path. You can even conveniently rent from one of the oceanfront resorts. Check out all of your renting and buying options here

Central Park

New Central Park Playground

The brand new playground, which opened in January 2022, is located on the west side of Huntington Central Park between the Disc Golf Course and Kathy May's Lakeview Cafe (perfect for breaking for breakfast or lunch during playtime). It features tall climbing structures, tunnels, bridges, a jungle gym, and a zipline. There's also a toddler-friendly area with a teeter-totter, small slide, and plenty of swings. 

All-Inclusive Playground at the Beach

All-Inclusive PlaygroundThe pirate-themed All-Inclusive Playground opened in Spring of 2018 and was designed to provide accessibility and promote interactive play among children of all abilities. The entire playground is surfaced with rubber, as approved by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessible features include an AeroGlider, swings, monkey bars, slides, and a fake rock structure. There are also picnic benches available for a nice beachside picnic. 

The playground's official address is 913 Pacific Coast Highway - just north of the Huntington Beach Pier, and you can access it using the pathways from the parking areas and the beach bike path.

From arcade games and ping pong tables to bowling and bocce ball, Off the Wall Social has exciting entertainment for both kids and adults. It's the perfect place to stop in and play, eat, and watch sports (especially if it happens to be an unexpected rainy day)!

PC Grommets Puppet Show

Pacific City's PC Grommets Kids Club happens every third Tuesday of the month from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Be sure to meet on the 2nd level under the big screen to enjoy an hour of fun for kids! Themes change monthly, check the website for specific event details and to register for free. 

After kids club, take a stroll around Pacific City, and get your parking validated with purchase at any of the food locations and select retail stores.
