As the unofficial “Mayor” of Huntington Beach, Bud Llamas is a true homegrown hero. Bud was the first NSSA surfing champion in 1978, surfed on the ASP Tour for seven years, and also won the Body Glove Grand Prix. His innovative surfing at the Huntington Beach pier set the early tone for the modern day aerial attach and he has been featured on the covers of both Surfing and Surfer magazines. In 2003, Big Bud Llamas dropped his hands, feet and thoughts into wet concrete sealing his place into the Surfing Hall of Fame. Today he owns and operates 17th Street Board Shop in Huntington Beach.
