This week, the California Department of Public Health published information in regard to COVID-19 case counts at Skilled Nursing facilities in California. More than one of these facilities are located in the City of Huntington Beach.
The Huntington Beach Fire Department is working closely with the involved facilities in conjunction with the Orange County Health Care Agency and the California Department of Public Health to stay abreast of the current situation. The Orange County Health Care Agency is the lead agency and they are working hard to ensure that the health care needs of the patients as well as the employees working in these facilities are met and are within the current standards being set forth by county and state health care agencies.
During this COVID-19 pandemic, the Huntington Beach Fire Department Public Outreach Team has been in constant communication with the many health care facilities within our community. The team has assisted in procuring additional personal protective equipment and has placed a priority on monitoring the status of these facilities with at-risk patients.
