Sports and Outdoors
With summer temperatures that rarely register above 80, and winter temps that rarely fall below the low 60’s, outdoor
sports in Huntington Beach reign supreme year-round.
Go bird-watching in one of HB’s parks or preserves. Kayak Huntington Harbour. Board a boat for an ocean fishing excursion. Tee off at Meadowlark Golf Club, or saddle-up for horseback riding at the HB Equestrian Center. Walk, bike or jog on the beautiful Santa Ana River Trail or Ocean Strand.
Over the years, Huntington Beach has built a reputation as a nucleus for extreme sports. Motocross. BMX, the ESPN X Games, National Paintball League and skating competitions all call Huntington Beach home.
The city is also home to one of the first disc (or Frisbee) golf courses in the U.S. Hundreds, and sometimes even thousands of people, young and old, travel to Huntington Beach Central Park each week to take part in the ever-growing sport.
