Geography & Population - The dynamic coastal city of Huntington Beach, with its sunny
Mediterranean climate and idyllic setting, is located along the
Southern California coast in Orange County, 35 miles south of Los
Angeles and 95 miles north of San Diego. Huntington Beach covers 28
square miles of land. With a 2008 population projection exceeding
200,000 residents, it is the fourth largest city in Orange County and
the 16th largest city in California.
Weather - According to the National Oceanographic Data Center, average
temperatures for the fall months in Huntington Beach are 73 degrees in
September, 71 degrees in October and 68 degrees in November. Even
December offers short-sleeves-and-shorts weather at an average 65
degrees. In fact, the city has near perfect outdoor weather, since the
air temperature rarely gets above 90 degrees (less than five days a
year) or drops below freezing, and average annual rainfall is less than

Economics - The city's average family household income exceeds $100,000, the
highest nationwide among the top 100 largest cities in the country. The
median age of city residents is 37. The average price for a home in
Huntington Beach exceeds $600,000. Huntington Beach was recently named
as having the eighth-lowest socioeconomic stress among U.S. cities with
populations over 100,000 by the American City Business Journals
