Slowfish is a Fast Favorite
In response to the omnipresence of fast food outlets, the “slow food” movement emerged with the belief that food should be savored and enjoyed. Combine that belief with a desire to serve the freshest, sustainable produce possible prepared in healthy, exciting dishes… and you’ve got Slowfish — one of Huntington Beach’s most inspiring restaurants.

Serving creative cuisine with a distinctive Japanese influence, Slowfish boasts not only a terrific sushi bar but such specialties as a “SLOW” bento box, several delectable salads and an array of tantalizing “small plates.” For something truly unique, try “The Famous Fat Avo” — a whole avocado “apple” filled with seared and seasoned albacore. This dish is fast becoming a neighborhood favorite. With a sleek, contemporary design and attentive service, Slowfish is destined to be one of your own favorite Surf City USA® dining destinations —click here for details, directions and hours.
Fantastic Dining for Every Mood
Whether you prefer raw seafood or a perfectly grilled steak, Huntington Beach has a dazzling variety of dining options to match every taste.

The downtown area is home to an array of restaurants, cafés and pubs. Located in downtown’s oldest historical building, Longboard Restaurant & Pub is popular with locals, serving sandwiches, fish, steaks and pub fare, and has two outdoor patios on which you can enjoy the great Huntington Beach weather. Silvera’s on Main Street is a sophisticated wine bar and martini lounge with world-class cuisine. Since 1966, Avila’s El Ranchito has been the place for classic Mexican food and the one of the best margaritas in town. For something more casual, local hot-spot Michele’s Sugar Shack Café serves breakfast all day, and turkey dinners on Wednesdays.

At the magnificent open-air shopping village of Bella Terra, you can choose from a fabulous selection of restaurants from the casual to the upscale, including such familiar favorites as California Pizza Kitchen, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant and Johnny Rockets to the famous Kings Fish House and festive Daphne’s Greek Cuisine.
Surf City USA Rides the “Ocean Force” Wave
Curious what’s really happening out there on those Surf City USA® beaches day in and day out? We hope you had a chance to tune into the truTV (formerly Court TV) reality show, “Ocean Force: Huntington Beach.”

Airing throughout January, the show captures the Surf City lifeguards working the busiest summer in Huntington Beach’s history! Some of the highlights included a “Code-X” body recovery incident, a 14-year-old boy in full cardiac and respiratory arrest, and many ocean rescues and law enforcement calls. It was a riveting glimpse into an action-packed day at the beach.

If you missed “Ocean Force: Huntington Beach” in its original airing, continue to check www.truTV.com for a full episode a full episode guide, as well as lifeguard bios & interviews.
