Come celebrate the beginning of the holiday season at the Light a Light of Love Celebration. Activities will include a children’s parade on Main Street, entertainment at Pier Plaza, Taste of Main Street and a snowflake lighting ceremony at the pier.
The event, which celebrates its 12th anniversary this year, brings together many different local children's groups, high school marching bands, the Orange County Song & Dance Company, several Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, Woody cars, Santa Claus riding on a fire truck, and thousands of community residents filled with excitement, warmth, and the spirit of the season.
Just before 6:00 P.M., there will be a countdown that will be followed by the official lighting ceremony, which will cap the night’s festivities. Approximately 85 snowflakes, all sponsored by different groups, businesses and individuals, will be lit up to the cheers of the crowd. The sponsorships help the Youth Shelter raise money to support their therapeutic programs for youth in crisis .
Please find more information on the Taste of Main Street
here. The Taste of Main will take place in conjunction with the Light a Light of Love celebration.
Main Street will be closed to traffic for a short time, beginning at 4:15 p.m. to allow the parade to pass. There will be hot cocoa and cookies available for a small donation at the Huntington Beach Pier.
